Haley had her first sick visit at the Drs - first it started with diarrhea and throwing up, her eears were checked and they were "great". So, we were more or less told to ride it out since it was viral - we kept her hydrated with gerber liquilytes (just for the record - that is SO much better than Pedialyte, I tried them for myself - the Pedialyte has a strong medicine taste, at least the flavor that we had did)
Haley seemed to start feeling better, but then it all started back again! The diarrhea actually never stopped completely, although it did subside a little. Well, we went back to the Dr. and I'll be damned if she didn't have an ear infection. I had no clue it could come on that sudden, it was about a week earlier that her ears looked great! She had to get a shot of rocephin in her leg because she was throwing up and had lots of diarrhea, and we didn't want her to throw up her medicine if she took it orally. Dr. said she could start the oral med the next day - Before the before the nurse gave it to her she told me "it's bad - it burns, and it might get red and form a knot" OH MY GOD ! I mean, I appreciate her trying to warn me - but it also scared me! That went as well as could be expected. Took her back the next day, and she had to get a 2nd shot ! Then started the oral meds the next day - which she is still on, but....after a couple of days - Haley was feeling SO MUCH BETTER - she is once again a happy baby!
