December 1st 2008

Good Grief! Can you believe it's already DECEMBER!? Where has this year gone? I've had an absolute great one! Let's see....where to start the update....Haley continues to amaze me everyday, and everyday I love her so much more if that's even possible. Last week we spent time in BC w/ the peeps (MeMa & PaPa) then the rest of the family came for Thanksgiving. It was a good time w/ good people and good food. Haley caught the stomach bug that I had earlier that week. She and I had a rough time Thursday night, and some of Friday, but after napping on MeMa for over 2 hours -she woke up all sweaty, but well rested, and you could tell instantly she was feeling better, that was good to see - especially after she was shining like a star the previous days. I see the way Mama & Daddy look at her and love her and I can tell that she melts their hearts like she does mine. Nothing like that, hanging out with people that think your kid is as great as you do - HOME, that's where that is.

So, since the last update - Haley got "hand, foot & mouth disease" - the disease word makes it sound a lot worse than it actually was. It's a viral thing that makes little blisters appear - you guessed it, on the hands, feet and in the mouth. The worst part was she lost her appetite, probably because of the sores in her mouth. She missed a day at school (daycare) and when we went back, they had posted sheets on the doors about it - like it was the cooties or something. I had never heard of this thing - just like I never knew anything about ear infections until I had her. BTW..she continues to get those and it makes me nuts! I just hope and pray that it doesn't cause any permanent damage to her ears. She's moved to the "big girl room" at daycare (the 1 year old room). That was a big adjustment, not only for her, but for me too. I miss Ms Marie (Ree Ree) a LOT. I really felt like we were favorites in the baby room, but I'm not getting that same warm, fuzzy feeling in the new room. The teacher, Ms Kristy, well, let's just say she wouldn't win any awards of the warm fuzzy feeling kind. Also, there are a couple of kids in there that I think need to hit the door and go to the next room (the 2 year old room) thank God, it won't be too much longer now, and they will be leaving.
Haley still isn't talking - well, she has her usual words Mama, Dadda/Daddy, NoNo - we have been working on MeMa really hard, and she'll get out NA, heck, it's a start. I worry about it sometimes that she isn't talking yet, but my friends at work assure me that it's ok, and once she starts she won't want to stop.
So - my update in a nutshell - LIFE IS STILL GOOD!!! Hell, I'd go so far as to say -it's GREAT!
