My Baby is ONE !

We celebrated Haley's one year birthday on Sunday July 13th 2008 ! I really wanted to post about how she has changed my life, and that this past year has been the best one in my ENTIRE LIFE without a doubt. However, I must be a little emotional today, because I nearly cried looking at the new pictures we had taken on Saturday - simply because of how much I love her and how beautiful she is. So...I'll save that for a different day.
This day, I'll reflect on last year around this time. I was due on July 21st, but the week before I suspected that it would be earlier than that. Things, and by things, I mean my body and body parts, were starting to feel different. So much so that I cleaned up my desk and files at work, got all of my leave papers ready and decided to take Friday the 13th off. Thursday when I left work, I stopped by Michaels and Target to get a few things that I wanted to work on Friday. One was her baby book, I had all intentions on starting that on Friday, just relaxing and day-dreaming about her. When Steve got home, later that evening we made a WalMart run to get diapers, and some breastfeeding supplies. When we got home, Steve went to OutBack and got us dinner. He got ribs, and I got Alice Springs chicken (my favorite). I started eating, about 5 minutes into it - I took a sip of water, leaned over to put the bottle back on the coffee table, and I heard a pop, and felt a gush of warm water. OH NO! My water just broke! OH SHIT! says Steve - but later on we both talked about we kind of felt like something was going to happen that night. I just thought we'd get started around 3:30 in the morning or something. So, I called the OBGYN line, Freida Tucker was on call, she called me back, and said to head to the hospital - don't wait around, but don't break your neck getting there. Oh, one more thing I had picked up from Michaels were these small foam stick on letters - I was going to get Steve to take a pic of my bare belly w/ HALEY spelled on it. I knew if I waited any longer to do that, I wouldn't have that chance - so...we did a short photo shoot, then I got a shower and we left. We were pulling into PCMH parking lot - it was 11:11PM on Thursday 7/12/07. OH, MAN, this is getting good to me, and since I'm at work, I think break is over - I'll finish this story later!
