Fireworks and the Beach !

We were all set to see the fireworks in BC on July 4th, but I think there were more rules to follow because of the previous years accidents, so...no fireworks in BC. We had also heard that Washington wasn't going to do them either, we were really bummed, but I decided to call the police dept to make sure we weren't missing them. Sure enough, they were ON! So - me, Steve, Haley, MiMi & Kalaya take off in hot pursuit to downtown Washington, we were about a mile from it, and we saw/heard them begin. We literally pulled up to front row parking, jumped out of the car and had the best seats in the house (except that we were standing). They were pretty awesome, I have no pics, but video taped the whole thing. It was Haley's first viewing, and safe to say she was in awe - well, at first, I really think they scared her, but once she realized that Daddy had her safely in his arms - it was all good! We also went to the beach (in August)(Surf City where Steve is from) for a mini vacation at his Mom's place this year, that was cool - we took Taylor with us. I don't know why, but I feel like I need to take her to cool places when we go, if at all possible, you know, because she's cool to be around and she likes cool things! and I LOVE HER! and so does Haley! We got there kind of late because I had to take Abby to BC, but were able to take a walk on the beach and get our toes wet. Again, I think it was a little much for Haley as soon as we walked up to it, I mean, yeah, the ocean is a pretty massive thing. But...as usual, she warmed up and started trusting us that everything was ok, that it was all fun and then....she didn't want to leave. We did a little shopping, went out to eat, then crashed - got up the next morning, and went back to the beach which is about 5 minutes away - LOVE THAT. We all played around, in the ocean, in the sand, in the sun - it was a very good day. I'm hoping we can make the mini vacation longer next year! (yeah, it was that good)
